Arrival by car:
The campus of the Technical University Dortmund is located near the freeway junction Dortmund West, where the Sauerland line A 45 Frankfurt-Dortmund crosses the Ruhr expressway B 1 / A 40. To the west, the university is thus connected to the freeway network of the Ruhr area and beyond to the regions of the Lower Rhine or the Netherlands. To the east, the B 1 leads through Dortmund in the direction of Unna, where it connects to highways to Bremen A 1, Hannover/Berlin A2 and Kassel A 44. To the north, the A 45 ends after a few kilometers at the A 2, which leads to the Kamener Kreuz interchange on the one hand and in the direction of Oberhausen on the other. In the southern direction, the A 45 offers another junction at the Westhofener Kreuz with the A 1, which leads from Bremen to the Cologne area. The most convenient highway exits are found on the A 45 in Dortmund-Eichlinghofen and on the B 1 / A 40 in Dortmund-Dorstfeld. The university is signposted at both exits.
Arrival by bus and train:
The university has its own train station on the North Campus. From the S-Bahn station "Dortmund Technische Universität", S-Bahn trains run every 20 or 30 minutes to Dortmund main station and to Düsseldorf main station (line S1). This means that the university can also be reached directly from the cities of Bochum, Essen, Mülheim, Duisburg. During the lecture period, additional suburban trains commute between Dortmund and Bochum.
You can request your individual connection to the Technical University Dortmund via the online forms of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr and the Deutsche Bahn AG.
